2019 FIJI DAY MULTICULTURAL FESTIVAL

 

A huge turnout last Saturday at the Fiji Day Multicultural Festival despite the dull and gloomy weather.

A tremendous Thank You to all our major sponsors, Metro Trains Melbourne, City of Dandenong Council, Victorian Multicultural Commission, Commonwealth Bank, Western Union and Australian Integrated Fijian Association Victoria Inc. (AIFAV).

Thank you to our guests, the Chairman of the United Pasifika Council of Victoria (UPCOV), Mr Lio Ale, The Member of Parliament for Bruce, Mr Julian Hill, (Temporary) Mayor of Dandenong Council , Cr Youhorn Chea, Miss Samoa Victoria 2019, Ms Zahriya Leaoasoma, Ms Eseta Faitua from Western Union and Mrs Kesa Ikanivere from Commonwealth Bank.

Thank you Mr Lio Ale for the inspiring and motivating speech of Love, Unity and working together as a community.

Thank you to all our performers who provided great entertainment and displayed their unique and proud culture through traditional dances-Vinaka vakalevu BULA Meke group for showcasing our proud and unique Fijian culture with the traditional welcoming ceremony and the Meke performance, thank you to Nuholani Polynesian Dance, Tama Tatau, Nesian Pearl, Lette Polynesian Dance, and Te Mana O Porinetia group for the beautiful cultural performances.

Thank you to the Australian Integrated Fijian Community Association Inc (AIFAV) for sponsoring our very first Community Awards to recognise and reward our dedicated volunteers past and present.

Thank you to all our food stall holders who sold a variety of delicious Pacific Island foods.

Thank you to all our dedicated volunteers who worked tirelessly to ensure everyone had an enjoyable day.

Thank you to DJ ASH for the lively music and great sound system. Thank you to
Ousman Sonko and The Kairo Family Band for the great entertainment and to Mr Rocky Fullman for organising the band.

Lastly, Thank You to all attendees for attending the 2018 Fiji Day Multicultural Festival. The event would not have been a success if it wasn’t for your support and attendance.

VINAKA VAKALEVU AND GOD BLESS OUR FIJIAN COMMUNITY IN VICTORIA

Join us in celebrating the 2019 Melbourne Fiji Day Multi-Cultural Festival at Gaelic Park Keysborough this Saturday, the 19th of October, 2019. This year, the Fijian Community Association Victoria is celebrating it's 5th year Anniverssary with you, So DON'T miss out on all that we have prepared for you to enjoy the Celebration. 

THIS IS A FREE EVENT - Official starting time is at 10:00am. STALLS ARE OPEN FROM 9:00am.

We are privileged and blessed to have the Chairman of the United Pasifika Council of Victoria (UPCOV) Mr Fuga Alofipo Lio Ale, as our guest speaker for our Fiji Day Multicultural Festival celebrations this Saturday 19 October at the Gaelic Park Keysborough.

Mr Ale currently works as a Senior Home Loan Lending Specialist with many years of experience in the banking industry and graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce from the National University of Samoa.

Known for his passion and volunteer work in helping Pacific communities, Mr Ale is also a member of the Universal Peace Federation Australia, Ambassador for Peace Australia and is also the current Chairman of the Victoria Samoan Advisory Council.

We look forward to hearing from such an inspirational leader and motivated speaker.

Other VIP guests include representatives from the Greater Dandenong Council, Elders in our Communities and representatives from all our sponsors.

We will also have the Ousman Sonko and The Kairo Family Band performing live for a few hours at the 2019 FIJI DAY MULTICULTURAL FESTIVAL MELBOURNE.

The Ousman Sonko and Kairo Family Band, is a well known local band featuring one of our own Mr Rocky Fullman. They play at the Bar Next Door, Northcote every Friday.

Come join us as we celebrate our 5th Year Anniversary this year. The Fijian Community Association Victoria has been organising the Fiji Day celebration since 2015. We first held the celebration at the Arts and Cultural Center, Footscray and has seen the growth of the event since.

FCAV was established on the 14th of November, 2014.

The night event will be held at the Melbourne Airport Golf Club, Operations Road, Tullamarine.
